dogblog December update!

This is it! Perhaps one of the most anticipated dog blog updates yet. Its been 1 month in the making, so there are many pictures to show. Bobbie has been pretty busy sleeping and preparing for the holidays. (but mostly sleeping... He's pretty lazy!)

We purchased a small fake xmas tree, and took some pictures of the animal. Then we figured he needed a tree of his own.

Below are an assortment of pictures of the dog helping us decorate for xmas and posing for a few pictures.

Doggy did NOT want to look at the camera...

Finally does, but is way out of frame. What a little weasel...
The next several takes aren't much better... I don't think he liked the flash on my blackberry. Every time it went off he would look down... he doesn't make a very good model, even if you take away his stench and ratty-ness, his performance would still be sub par!

SUCCESS!!!!!!

"Where's my cookie?"

Dog with all the presents... probably wondering when he'll be able to get away with peeing on them.

And Doggy hanging out with Amy. She gave him some good squishes, as you can see in the expression on his face.

The next few pictures are some interesting ones I snapped a couple days after the xmas ones above. Amy was studying on the sofa, and the dog decided he wanted to snuggle. He squished himself between Amy and the sofa. When amy moved to get herself comfortable, she would progressively squish the dog, but he seemed to enjoy it. He wouldn't move, and so these pictures illustrate the progressive squishing.

LOADS of room. You can see him wedging amy off of the sofa.

Little bit less room... looks like he's half under amy.

Maybe a half hour later. If he didn't like cuddling so much, this would be a very bad position...

Anyhow! Dog is all well! no silly dreams required! He is medicated, fed (no mould in the bowl, checked this morning!) and watered! And given a little bit of love on occaision.

Where's the schnauzer?

Can you see him? Its tricky, because of his natural camouflage. His browns and blacks obscure him among the fallen leaves and detritus. He might also be obscured because of the poor quality phone camera... Either way he his in his element. Try to sneak up on him, and bad things happen, as you'll see!

SNOW DOG

So, woke up this morning, and to my surprise, there was white stuff falling from the sky, and accumulating on the ground. My first thought was nuclear fallout, but unfortunately, I was wrong. It was snow.

There is some good news to be brought by the snow though! Bobbie's usually long and meandering pee-breaks outside seem to be much much quicker when he has to drag his junk through the snow in order to pee.

Below are a couple of pictures of the Snow Dog!

Bobbie's Visit from mom!

So, Its been another little while since the last dogblog update. There hasn't been anything overly exciting happen in Bobbie's life. He definitely enjoyed his visit from Mom this past weekend though. He got a dispropotionately large ammount of cookies, squishes, and even a couple extra walks. All in all, for a 68 year old dog, thats a pretty good thanksgiving.

I obtained the age estimate for animal at this website. Seems pretty optimistic. I'd say because he is so fat, he probably falls into the next category up.

On another note, Amy and I did pick out a Halowe'en costume for the animal. He did not like putting it on, but he does look pretty sharp in it!

Well, he looked OK in SOME of the pictures. Below are some creepy demonic clown dog pictures.

Doggum Update!

With the starting of classes, Bobbie has been quite busy napping away the days, occasionally leaping up to bark at passers by. (Real ones, or ones in his head that he THINKS he sees.) He ran out of one of his pills, and so I had to get some more for the little fatty. I had already called the vet, and they were midway through issuing me a new prescription, when I realized it said there are refills. Quick trip to Lawtons later, and Bobbie was back in business.

He is still getting out for his walks. Dad occaisionally drops by to walk Bobbie. They never go for long walks though, because Bobbie has some boundary issues with Shay. I'm just amazed Shay hasn't tried to eat Bobbie's face yet...

Friday, Bob got a much much much needed bath. The rank stench everyone has been smelling was indeed from Bobbie. You should notice it pass though, since he now smells fresh. I think part of the reason he's so stinky is because he pees more and more in his sleep now. I need to wash his pillow and blanket at least weekly, because they start to stink up the place. I still think we should save Bobbie the trouble of passing water, and just dump his water jug directly on the floor as opposed to making him drink it!

Below is a picture of lard-o stinky dog sleeping infront of the window as I type this from the dining room table!

Bobbie says "Enjoy your travels and adventures and swimming lessons abroad!"

Adventures on the High Seas!

Since the last blog, bobbo has had quite the number of nautical adventures! He's been kayaking, and hanging out at the Dartmouth Yacht Club. Ok, so for those keeping count, thats only two nautical adventures, but what can ya do?

Bobbie seemed to like the sailboat, because once we arrived, he didn't mind being aboard, as long as I was aboard with him, and within sight. Since I wanted to get some things done, and not worry about a small animal going for an inadvertant swim, I tricked him by lying next to him in the v-birth, till he dozed off, and then I was able to get some things done. Everyone wins!

I have yet to actually take the dog out for a sail, though I'm sure he wouldn't mind, since he just seems to like being around people. (Sometimes a little bit too much so, he has some dependancy issues! I was re-arranging my main and jib halyards to run them back to the cockpit, and he just came over and plopped down on my lap. When I moved him, he would whimper. If I tried to give him to Simon, same result.)

Anyhow, here are some photos the dog agreed to pose for:

BACK, by popular demand and the fear that there will be riots if there is no update soon...

So, Bobbie has continued on his normal activities over the past few days. He got into the greenbin once, peed on the floor probably 6-8 dozen times, took a poop as he walked around the house. (It looked like he was walking when he did it, cause there were little 'pooplets' everywhere...)

Because I really don't like to clean pee up off the floor, I've discussed it with doggy, and we have a new action plan. More litterboxes in the places he pees the most, and a more restricted area in the daytime when Amy and I are out, in exchange for at least TWO daily walks around the block, and playtimes when we are around. Talk to Nora and Amy, both can attest to the fact that Bobbie has been walked by me several times since we have enacted this plan! He's been around the block TWICE already today, and so he's very happy! (Its about 11AM here, by the way.)
Here's a picture of his happiness!

What a lickey dog!!

Didn't know his tongue was that long, gross!

"Why the hell did you wake me up?"

Bobbie was a little upset at being woken! So here is a video of him barking at me, fortunately with out sound! He's so loud you probably heard him anyways!

On a side note, to get back to talking about pooplets; you may recall a time 4 or more months ago when Bobbie had violent diarrhea in front of the robot vacuum. Well, I finally took it completely apart yesterday and cleaned it all out. 2 hours of work... there was dried shit EVERYWHERE! In the brushes, the wheels, you name it. And to boot, the thing had never been cleaned before. Tiffany, I pulled so much of your long blonde poo-covered hair out of the gears and cogs in that thing... Anyways, I have yet to test out the poor vacuum, but I am optimistic that it will function!

And here we have me giving lardo-dog his much earned biscut after all the noise he made!

I shall leave it at this!

Look forward in upcoming posts to a new series of video blogs by bobbie, where he'll share his worldly views and wisdom. He'll be looking for questions to answer regarding your world travels, so if you were wondering where its likely to encounter a Box Jellyfish in India, or where the nearest Desert Camel Tours are in Adelaide, Austrailia, feel free to ask and if your question is chosen from the thousands recieved, you may be lucky enough to see Bobbie himself personally answer your query!

Until Then!

A BATH! EUGH!

So poor Bobbie had quite the eventful day yesterday. (Or two days ago if you're reading this on the other side of the planet...) Meller decided that he needed to be cleaned before she went to India, and believe it or not, she actually cleaned! (dishes, dog, rooms, etc)

While I was not present for the cleaning, I would say that dispite the required dislike of baths by Bobbie, he ended up being quite chipper afterwards. He was bouncing around when I got home from work that evening, and he wasn't even wet anymore!

Here is his before picture! As you can see, he is a dirty little animal, and his stench was horrendous!

Eww... Dog breath!

Here is a wonderful during shot!

DROWNED RAT ALERT

And finally, all trimmed and fluffed!

Still has bad dog breath....

Below you will find a video of what happens when puppy wants to dry off. Unfortunately, I have noticed that I am sitting on this very sofa as I type this. gross...

That is all for now! And not because I'm not bored with nothing to do, but because there is nothing else to add at this juncture!

That being said, I will leave you with these pictures of Bobbie and his new bed.

Bobbie's First Blog

Meller figured it would be a great idea since she and Tiffer were going to be away for long periods of time to set up a DogBlog so they can monitor the daily goings on of a 13 year old yorkshire terrier.

Since I have little else to occupy my time, I obliged, and we have DogBlog!

To start off, today has been a relatively big day for Bobbie. Meller actually got him his pills on time this morning, since I was out with Amy fetching her visiting friends from the airport. When we got back, Bobbie was quick to wake up all the way with the new visitors, and sucessfully performed all his tricks, with the exception of "catch" since he doesn't do so well seeing the treat flying at his face these days!

Amy's friends were nervous at first, and feared for their jeans when Bobbie crawled on their laps to lie down, because I explained how his sometimes uncontrolled bladder can wreak havok, unless you're partial to urine soaked clothing!

He's really not that bad at all though. Here he is chilling with me as I write this, giving me some input here and there by snorting or sighing when I ask him certain things.

I best be wrapping this up! Puppy thinks he heard something, as illustrated in this video!
Till Next Time!
